11:14 pm - Dead dancers!

Hi! I'm new, obviously. This has got to be the best idea for a community ever, by the way.

Let the immortal debate continue!! Here, both gazing off into the distance at a three-quarter view and looking pensive, we have two of cinema's most famous dancers.  Fred Astaire...

or Gene Kelly?

..and how about when you actually take their dancing into account as well? :D

4:25 pm - Skirmish of the Serialists...

Charles Dickens, satirist, sentimentalist and social reformer

Wilkie Collins, sensationalist, short-statured and slave to opium

You might fancy your chances, even in straight-laced Victorian England - both men had rather unusual, ahem, domestic arrangements...

10:10 pm - Lovely but Dead Romantic Poets

I'm sure there must be some fiends for Romanticism out there who would find this a worthy challenge:

Percy Bysshe Shelley, born 1792. Poet, atheist, democrat. Died in sailing accident 1822.

John Keats, born 1795. Poet, lover of beauty, romantic. Died of consumption 1821.

I know in this match up it is somewhat difficult to judge looks-wise as these men lived in an age before the modern convenience of things like digital cameras and similar :), so I tired to find the most becoming artist-renditions of both Shelley and Keats.
